Scicli, Baroque is also a way of shaping a town
UNESCO heritage connects buildings and urban design in south-eastern Sicily.

Scicli belongs to the UNESCO property of the Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto. The designation concerns towns rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake, linking buildings with the organisation of urban space.
Understanding this heritage means looking beyond an individual façade. Streets and squares reveal a town still inhabited today. Protection meets everyday uses, while access to individual buildings requires separate checks.
