Palermo’s railway reaches Politeama and the port

Porto and Politeama bring regional trains into central Palermo. The Giachery–Politeama section was inaugurated on 3 November, with service announced for the following day.

The announced free-travel scheme covers passengers boarding or alighting at the ring line’s seven stops until 31 January 2027. The initial frequency is thirty minutes. Completing the circuit still depends on the second phase and future Turrisi Colonna stop. Opening this section does not mean every part of the project is finished.
