Gela school-trip buses fined after safety checks

Gela traffic police inspected two buses used for school trips as part of checks on the safety of journeys involving pupils and teachers.

According to Quotidiano di Gela, tachograph records revealed breaches of driver rest requirements. Fines totalled €2,000 and fifteen licence points were deducted overall.

The findings were also referred to the local labour inspectorate and vehicle licensing authorities for their respective checks.
