Castiglione, a town between Etna and the Alcantara
A geography linking settlement, river and volcanic slopes.
Castiglione di Sicilia stands on a hill on Etna’s northern side, in the Alcantara valley. Its castle and Cannizzu feature in Visit Sicily’s account of local heritage.
Its position makes the settlement a meeting point within a wider landscape. River scenery, buildings and local activities belong to the same story, including outside the main visitor season.
